The SolarMax 60 is a refractor with a built-in H-alpha filter that is dedicated to solar viewing. This scope has an etalon cell with a bandwidth of less than 0.7Angstrom and only passes light having a wavelength of 656.3 nanometers, i.e., the alpha emission line for Hydrogen. This refractor has a focal length of 400 mm and images at f6.6. The scope is light weight and can be easily carried on a photo tripod, as shown above.
